Saturday, January 31st, 2004

Dear Praying Friends:

Thank you for praying for Mr. Yo. He came to our house church worship last Sunday and will be coming back tomorrow. Pray discipleship time afterwards that through this he will grow strong in his faith. Pray he will get a vision to reach out to the young men in the company dormitory where he lives.

The ladies we requested prayer for last week did not get to go prayer walking on Monday because one of them got sick. But, two of them visited a lady and shared the gospel for over an hour. Pray that the seeds will sprout and result in Mrs. A’s salvation.

The Sato’s continue to open their home for worship but Mr. Sato has to work again tomorrow. This is the second week he has had to work. Pray for his faith to remain strong and for him to be able to be off work to worship with the body of Christ. Pray for God to provide them with a car. Also, pray that this couple will read the word and pray together each day.

Praise the Lord that Mrs. Mura, our newest Christian, asked her mentor if she could meet every day to read the Bible and pray together. Praise the Lord.!! Pray this new Christian will grow and become a bold witness for the Lord as she feasts on His word, individually and with her friend each day.

Also, praise the Lord that Mr. Ma, the university student who was saved at our house a couple of weeks ago, was able to meet this week for discipleship. Pray for his growth and for God to provide just the right job for him after he graduates from university. Ask God to burden his heart for his fellow students.

Dear Praying Friends:

Thank you for praying for Mrs. Y. She is growing again in her faith, is open to being discipled and has even volunteered to have worship at the her home. Pray that her renewed commitment to Christ will positively influence her husband and son in their walks with the Lord.

Tomorrow Mr. Y will come to the Sunday afternoon worship at the house church for the first time. He is a new Christian who has just returned from the States. He has never been to a house church before. There probably will not be any other single young men there. Pray that he can worship Christ from his heart, grow in his commitment to Christ as well as feel “at home” with the house church family.

Pray as Mr. Y and Mrs. Ya talk with Mrs. Hara on Sunday about baptism at “H” church. Mr. Y led her to Christ last Sunday, a first for the laymen from that church. Pray for the wisdom and direction for the two dicsiplers. Pray that they as well as this new Christian will grow through the discipling process. Also, pray that many who will come to Christ through “H” Church.

Pray for three men, Mr. Y, Mr. N and Mr. S, who have trusted Christ but have not taken that first step of obedience, baptism. Ask God to deal with them about being obedient to His commands. Also, pray for them to want know Him, to read His word and seek Him. Pray for Mr. Shi to profess Christ publicly.

Pray for four ladies who will be going prayer walking in Togane on Monday. Ask God to lead them to the area where He wants them to pray. Ask that they will have insight and know what to pray for, and that they their faith and vision will grow as they walk, pray and experience God answering. Pray as the church expands the prayer walking areas to Miyagi Prefecture and Tochigi Prefecture.

Continue to pray for Mrs. S. who had her Bible, song book, discipleship and leadership materials, her notes, etc. taken away by her family. Her Bible has been taken away three times, but has been returned each time. However, her song book and discipleship and leadership materials that she used in discipling others have not been returned. Please ask for these to be returned to her.

Dear Praying Friends:

The day has finally arrived, we hope!!! Tomorrow, Mrs. Maruyama who was saved in November will follow the Lord in baptism. Every time she has had a day set for baptism something has come up to prevent her being baptized. Pray that there will be no problem tomorrow. Pray this will be a meaningful time for her and an encouragement to the other believers as they remember their own baptism. Pray for all to grow and to boldly witness so that many others can be saved. Pray for rapid multiplication of disciples.

A Christian grandmother in her 70’s from Taiwan flew to Tokyo this past week so that she could see that her Japanese grandson had a chance to hear the gospel She brought her grandson, her granddaughter and her daughter to our home last night. The grandson and granddaughter both prayed to receive Christ. Please pray that they will read the Bibles we gave them and experience His presence daily and witness to their friends. The grandson is a third year student at one of the best universities in the country. Because of the recession, he has already begun to look for a job after his graduation from college in 2005. Pray that he will turn his life over to Christ completely and trust God to provide him with the right job and to lead him each day.

Acts 16:31 gives us a promise that when we are saved our families will also be saved as we share the gospel with them. Pray for the salvation of the family members of those who have been saved. Pray also for Mr. and Mrs. T, Mr, and Mrs. D. and Mr. and Mrs. W. to be saved.
