Not Forgotten
By jpnnana | December 21, 2006
At Christmas each year especially, we are reminded that God has not forgotten us. As we think of Jesus’ birth we are reminded of how much He loves us—so much that He sent his son to live among us and die for us!!! We sing Immanuel and are reminded of His presence with us, today, 2000 plus years after His birth.
Also, we have not forgotten you!!! Though it has been several weeks since we wrote a prayer update, we have been reminded in many ways that you are praying for us. We have thanked God many times during these weeks for those of you who are praying. We have seen God at work. We met some of you during our travels to different churches and God blessed us through you. We pray that he blessed you as well and that you now have an even greater burden to pray for the Japanese people.
We returned to the States for our Stateside assignment on November 9 and were on the road until December 11, when we moved into the missionary house in Fayetteville, Georgia. It has taken several days to get moved in, but we are getting there!!! We are so thankful for this beautiful place in the woods, so different from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo.
We have rejoiced as we read reports from E about what God is doing in Japan!! We have been reminded that God has definitely not forgotten the Christians in Japan: in Chiba, Okinawa, Sapporo or in Niigata. There have been multiple worships where Christ’s birth was celebrated!! In Togane He has moved three of the leaders in Chiba to pray together each day for God to work in the hearts of those to whom they are witnessing. Pray for their prayers to be answered and for many who hear to be saved.
He has not forgotten the lost nor is He turning a deaf ear to our prayers. New doors to witness are opening. Mrs. Eba gave her heart to Christ when E visited her and shared the gospel with her after a Thursday worship. Pray for Mrs. Eba to follow the Lord in baptism. Pray for family members who are lost.
Some of the Christians will be traveling to their home towns during the New Year. Please pray for them to be vibrant witnesses and to share their testimonies and the gospel with their families. One example, Mrs. Mo is visiting her family who live on one of the small Ryuku islands between Kyushu and Okinawa. There are very few Christians there. Pray she will be a bold witness and that her family will respond as the Holy Spirit speak to them.
We pray that God will bless you richly.
Claiming His Promises.
