On the Road

By jpnnana | September 25, 2005

Dear Prayer Partners:

Travel to Okinawa, Kikai Island, Fukuoka, Hiroshima and Chiba has kept us on the road for a much of September. The first week of October we will be in Sapporo. Thus, in a short span of weeks we will have been from the northern most island of Japan to the southern most group of islands. We have seen God at work. We have seen the results of prayer. Thank you for praying for us and for the Japanese people.

In Okinawa, we visited Mr. Miku, his wife and extended family. We went witnessing together, prayed together, and had a time of training. We listened as his family shared about house church worship time at his parent’s house on Wednesday night. We worshiped together with the group that meets at their apartment on Sunday afternoon. We prayed with Mr. Miku who to present has been self employed but has just begun full time work at a company. We ask God to be able to adjust his schedule to meet people, to witness to them, to counsel them and also to witness to the lost. Please pray that he will continue to grow, maintain his personal walk, and have joy in the Lord as he faithfully follows Christ.

Pray for Mr. Toku on Kikai Island to be saved and for Al and Aub to be bold, wise and compassionate witnesses. Mr. Toku has lived on the island all his life except for a short time away at college. He knows the history of the island as well as many people across the island. As a child he and his family were exposed to a cult which claims to be Christian and he was even baptized. Pray for Mr. Toku to be able to discern the truth and to follow the Holy Spirit as He seeks to draw him to Christ. Kikai is small and isolated. Pray Mr. Toku will become a person of peace and a multiplying disciple of Christ. Ask God to protect Al and Aub, strengthen their faith and deepen their compassion for the lost. Pray they will always be connected to the true Vine, Jesus Christ, and have great vision for multiplying disciples and churches.

Last week, E met the mother of one of the young ladies who works at the Lotus coffee shop. This mother of five was saved as a young woman but has been away from the Lord since she married. Her daughter has been reading the Bible and out of superstition carries one around with her for protection. She has one in her coffee shop. E and other have been witnessing to the daughter and a friend who run the shop. On Wednesday, the mother, her daughter and E met for worship for the first time. Pray that the mother will commit her life totally to Christ and produce fruit. Ask God to draw the two young ladies to Christ. Pray that a church will result from this small beginning and many will come to know Christ as the church reproduces to the next generation.

Claiming His Promises for His Glory,
Tak and Lana
