What a week!
By jpnnana | June 14, 2004
Dear Prayer Partners:
What a week this has been!!! We have seen God working in and through the lives of our church members and lives of the team from Calvary Baptist Church in Jackson, Tennessee What a wonderful diverse team. The ten members of the team included a doctor, a counselor, a computer specialist, an art teacher, a youth pastor, a pastor, a banker, a worker at a university, a retired missionary and a youth. The members ranging in age from 18 to 75, prayed, distributed digest Bibles and tracts, witnessed on the streets as well as made visits in homes, shops, etc, sharing Christ with many. Thank you for praying for divine encounters. There were several during the week. Pray that we will see fruit from those.
Five Japanese followed the Lord in baptism this week, three in a fish tank at a church on Sunday and two in the ocean on Thursday. Some of the team were able to fellowship with the church people while sitting on the floor of the beach house after the baptism. A few had fun wading in the ocean and gathering shells along the beach. Some testified at WMU meetings and taught children, others taught parenting and counseling skills. The Tabiji group home was blessed as they received training and counseling tips. God was good to provide every need, including two team members who spoke beautiful Japanese. They multiplied the team’s ministry many fold. Each team member was compassionate and bold in sharing the gospel. The members of the Togane church watched, and just as Jabez prayed for God to enlarge his borders, they are praying for God to enlarge theirs. All three churches now have a greater commitment and vision!!!!
We’ll share a few highlights and requests and welcome our new prayer warriors!!!
Sunday, Mrs. Y, a young mother led her son to the Lord. He was baptized in the ocean on Thursday. Each member in that family now believes in Jesus, but the father has yet to be baptized. Please pray for Mr. Y to follow the Lord in baptism. They are having worship each week, as well as family devotions daily. Pray that this will be the beginning of a house church in their neighborhood.
We have worship each Sunday at the Sa’s home. Mr. Sa, who was baptized in November, leaves for work each morning at 6:30 and some days doesn’t get home until after midnight. He did not see his children from last Sunday until this Sunday. Please pray for his job situation and that he will know what God wants him to do. Pray that his desire will be to please God and be the spiritual leader of his family. Pray he will not succumb to the pressure of putting the company first. Pray He can trust God to care for him and his family as he aligns his priorities with God’s. Pray he will truly experience God’s presence each day.
The team came from Tennessee and served, but you there in America and in other countries around the world who prayed for us had a great part in the victories won this week. Pray for the team that returned to the States that they will be able to continue their work uninterrupted. Pray for the church here as Satan is certain to double his attacks on the Christians.
Ask God to guide the Togane church on Thursday as they discuss and make decisions about dividing and multiplying into more churches. They are asking God for churches that will meet on Wednesday morning, Thursday afternoon, Saturday evening, Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon for worship. Pray for leaders to emerge and for the churches to have a vision for reaching the world for Christ.
We apologize that the VBS virtual prayer walk was not available this week. We’re still having trouble with uploading our VBS virtual prayer walk to our website. Please pray that whatever glitch is holding up the works can be fixed and we can get it uploaded before Tuesday evening of this week.
Again thank the Lord with us and praise Him and give Him the glory for all He has done this week!!! Praise the Lord!!!!!
Praising Him and thanking Him for His marvelous works,
Tak and Lana
